the kissing tree. The apple orchid was the common place for people like us. People who longed for space away from the prying eyes of parents, the teasing of older brothers and the awkward angle of a single bed. We would gather, stepping tip-toed amongst the fallen fruit in the last hours of sunlight, bringing food stolen from our fridges at home and parcels fat with half smoked cigarettes. The girls always had goosebumps from wearing revealing, too tight singlets but none of us ever offered our sweaters, enjoying the way that their hair fell over bare, hunched shoulders. In other news, I feel I must apologise for not writing a piece for the first prompt. I will, eventually, get around to it. The beginning of semester has swamped me with homework and feeling ill off and on is weighing me down. If I seem quieter than usual, this is most likely the reason why I'm not around. So, please, DON'T follow my example and DO go write for the prompt! There'll be a spankin' for those who don't!

i like to giggle-snort, and have a tendency to laugh at my own jokes. but hey, if i didn't think they were funny i wouldn't tell them in the first place, right? my favourite way to spend an afternoon is with a good book, a blanket and my boyfriend. i like to wear black, though i'm very colourful on the inside. my favourite word is formaldehyde. it just sounds nice, okay?
